Heron's Hideaway on Lake Murray

We live just down the road from the property and were hosting a large family gathering. Heron's Hideaway served as the perfect second home for our large extended family. They enjoyed movie nights in the spacious living room area and enjoyed coffee each morning on the lovely porches and outdoor seating areas. It was the perfect accommodations for our purposes and we will definitely book again in the future!

We enjoyed our stay at the lake house. The dock and swimming area was great & I really liked having the boat ramp on the property. The house was nice and comfortable for us. My only complaint was the upstairs bedroom. The bedroom was nice and comfy but with no blinds or curtains on the windows it was daytime bright at 6am so I slept downstairs after the first night. Thanks again for letting us stay!!

We had to pivot last minute for Christmas with many family members. This place had gorgeous views drinking wassail and coffee while looking over the water and wildlife visitors. We had a fantastic time with plenty of room for our family. We realized the pans were not in great shape and message the rental company. They had a new set to us within a few hours! Their response was always very professional and quick! Highly recommend!! We will be staying there again

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The lake views were wonderful, especially in the morning. While the home was suitable for our group of six adults and our dogs, the photos do make the home appear significantly larger than it actually is. Thankfully we spent most of our time outdoors so we were not on top of one another all the time in the common spaces of the home. The home did appear to need some upkeep and maintenance. While the home had been cleaned before our arrival it seemed as though the cleaning may have occurred weeks before our arrival because we found dust throughout the home along with spider webs and dead bugs both inside and outside the home. The porch was almost unusable when we arrived due to the bugs having inhabited nearly every inch, including hornets living inside the porch furniture. Lastly, we did not alter any temperature settings, but found all the vents to drip with condensation - so much so that we had to alter sleeping arrangements in order to not get dripped on in the night. We made the most of our trip and were able to enjoy simply being together. So thank you Heron's Hideaway for making that possible.
